The candidates should have at least 1-3 years’ experience with the respective Operating systems, so that they can comfortably navigate around the OS with confidence (we do not have time to teach the basics).
The goal is to reduce the number of known vulnerabilities throughout the Enterprise. The candidates will be given work from the respective team managers, and will work alongside the incumbent teams.
They will be given a package of work and be expected to follow change management processes. They will / may have to engage with application and business owners to assist with testing and proving of remediation solutions. The candidates need to be self-motived (they will not be micro managed), direction will be provided by Team Managers, Project Managers and local SME’s.
Their efforts will be monitored and measured, they will be expected to track their own activities closely, so we can better understand how to deploy our assets in the most effective manner.
Some evening and weekend working may be required to deploy fixes.
Essential Experience, skills:
1-3 years Unix/Linux/AIX or Windows Operating system knowledge including server and desktop variants.
Working and operating within an ITIL framework, especially in regard to change control.
Nice to Have skillsets:
Experience of any previous patching products – SCCM, WSUS, Satellite etc.
Previous patching and or vulnerability remediation experience
Product / application upgrade knowledge
